Warsaw Kompot — Poland
A deep ruby fruit kompot with warming spices — Poland's traditional fruit drink for World Cup 2026.

Ingredients
- 1 cup mixed berries (strawberries, raspberries, blackberries)
- 1 plum, pitted and quartered
- 2 cups water
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 3 whole cloves
- 1 strip lemon zest
- Ice cubes
- Fresh berries, for garnish
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine water, sugar, cinnamon stick, cloves, and lemon zest. Heat until sugar dissolves.
- Add the mixed berries and plum quarters. Simmer gently for 10 minutes (don't boil).
- Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature. Strain through a fine mesh strainer.
- Chill in the refrigerator until cold.
- Serve over ice in tall glasses.
- Garnish with a few fresh berries.
- Serve cold — the deep ruby color is stunning.
