Ingredients
- 4 oz strong brewed hibiscus tea, chilled
- 2 oz fresh blood orange juice
- 0.5 oz simple syrup
- 4 oz premium tonic water
- 1/2 cup ice cubes
- 1 fresh rosemary sprig
Instructions
- 1. Brew a concentrated hibiscus tea by steeping two tea bags in 4 ounces of hot water for five minutes, then chill completely.
- 2. Fill a highball glass or a large wine glass with fresh ice cubes until it is three-quarters full.
- 3. Pour the chilled hibiscus tea and the fresh blood orange juice over the ice.
- 4. Add the simple syrup if a sweeter profile is desired, and stir gently with a long spoon to combine the base flavors.
- 5. Top the glass with the tonic water, pouring slowly to maintain the carbonation and create a layered effect.
- 6. Give the drink one final, very brief stir to integrate the tonic without losing the bubbles.
- 7. Garnish with a fresh rosemary sprig, lightly slapping it against your hand first to release the aromatic oils.
